Carmel School CBSE, Mangaluru Organises Training Programme for Guides and Bulbuls

The Training Programme for Guides and Bulbuls at Carmel School CBSE, Mangaluru began with hoisting the Guides Flag followed by a Prayer Service. Mr Rohith S Rao, the Assistant District Commissioner of Bharath Scouts and Guides, Dakshina Kannada District and Mrs Sandhya Shenoy, Asssitant Teacher in Rotary English Medium School, Moodbidri were the resource persons.

Sr Sarika, the Principal, Sr Preena the Vice Principal were present for the Inaugural Session. Mr Rohith S Rao motivated the Guides by emphasizing the importance of Scouts and Guides in facing challenges and developing their overall personality.

Mrs Sandhya encouraged the Bulbul flocks through her inspirational message to be active and seize all the opportunities to develop their skills in life.

Training sessions on compass, map reading and digital mapping were conducted to the Guides. Participants were introduced to the concept of compass, map and digital mapping and its importance and were divided into 10 patrols.

Demonstration was done by the resource person and participants were facilitated to locate various angles and directions using compass, locating places in maps digitally during practical session.

Bulbul training session commenced with bulbul ceremony by singing the song ‘We are the Bulbul’. Participants were instructed to draw the national flag and colour it. A session on usage of compass and wealth out of waste was conducted. The bulbuls were delighted to prepare paper caps and wear it on their head.

Session ended with the National Anthem.

Guide Captains Mrs Pavithra and Mrs Ashwitha welcomed the gathering and introduced the resource persons and Mrs Lathika & Mrs Sachitha proposed Vote of Thanks. Shanvitha V and Khyathi Rajesh Argil compeered the programme.
