Outreach Programme by Class 9

Spreading Smiles and Gratitude

To instill a sense of community service and compassion, the students of Class 9 of Carmel School organized an outreach programme on 15 January 2025 to honour and support the Sanitary Workers of Municipal Corporation, Mangalore. The event aimed to acknowledge the invaluable contributions of these frontline workers and extend support through foodstuff,groceries, and essential clothing.

The programme commenced with a prayer service, invoking blessings and gratitude for the efforts of the sanitary workers who tirelessly ensure a clean and healthy environment. The students then extended a heartfelt welcome to the Principal Sr. Lily Pushpa and the esteemed guests.
The students, with immense enthusiasm, handed over the collected foodstuff, grocery items, and necessary clothing to the workers. Each package symbolized the students’ appreciation and collective effort in bringing about a positive change.

The workers expressed their heartfelt gratitude, and some shared their experiences, emphasizing the significance of community support in their challenging work. The interaction created a strong emotional connection, leaving both the students and the guests deeply moved.

The program concluded with the vote of thanks, where the organizers expressed their appreciation to everyone involved, including the principal, students, teachers, and the workers for their valuable participation and contribution.

The outreach programme was a profound experience for the students, fostering empathy, teamwork, and a deeper understanding of the roles sanitary workers play in society. It underscored the importance of giving back to the community and the power of small acts of kindness in making a significant impact.
