The feast of our Lady of Mount Carmel, the patroness of our school, was celebrated on 13th July 2019 with great devotion. The students of classes VIII A and IX A hosted a programme in honour of mother Mary.
The celebration began with a solemn prayer service that highlighted the importance of grace towards growth in divine intimacy. The president and the audience were welcomed by Tajuba Thoara followed by a welcome dance. A skit on the importance of Brown Scapular was enacted and gave the message that whoever wears this will be protected from all danger and harm.
Through a tableau “In Search of God”, the students highlighted the history of the Carmalite Order and the significance of the Scapular. It also depicted the ten virtues of Divine Mother, which must be imbibed by all to lead a virtuous life. Since it was our School Feast, the students wished the gathering A Happy Feast and prayed for God’s Blessings on the school, through a blessing song.
Sr. Sarika, our Principal urged the students to follow the footsteps of Mother Mary and assimilate her virtues in our lives.
Kanisha K., Khatija Nada, Sharanya B. G., Aysha Banu, Luvina Noronha compered the programme and Nada Meher proposed the vote of thanks.
There was a solemn Eucharistic Celebration on 15th July in honour of our School Feast. Fr. Rayan OCD, celebrated the Holy Mass and broke the word of God, highlighting the meaning and origin of Carmel and number of religious orders named after it. After the mass, Sr. Sylvette A.C. enlightened the students about the contributions of Mother Veronica in pioneering the congregation and Apostolic Carmel Sisters towards the growth of educational institutions in Mangalore. The blessed scapulars and a hand book of “Precious Pearls” from Mother Veronica were distributed to the students.
