The annual guides camp took place at the Stella Maris Kannada Higher primary school

One of the most looked forward events in the school calendar – the annual guides camp took place at the Stella Maris Kannada Higher primary school , Kotekar .On Feb 23 and 24 2019.
The guide’s camp began with the hoisting of the guide flag. After the flag hoisting an inaugural program was held at School auditorium. Mr. Leslei D’Souza was the chief guest, Sr. Sarika, Principal of Carmel School , Sr. Lenita ,Vice Principal Carmel School , Sr.Venitha, Cordinator were present during the inauagral. Sr.Sarika wished the Guides students through her inspirational words.

Many activities were performed including Knots, Pioneering, crafts, games etc. Knots session was conducted by Guide captain Tr.Lathika , Sr. Sonal conducted pioneering session and Craft session was handled by Tr. Lara . That evening, camp fire was organized at 7.30pm. During camp fire, guides students performed dance and skit. After the camp fire, as a mark of love and respect mementos were presented to Sr. Archana , the Superior of Stella Maris Convent , Sr. Maria Carmel. Headmistress of Stella Maris Higher Primary School, Kotekar , Sr, Jennifer Moras , Principal , Carmel School Kotekar .

Vote of thanks was delivered by guide Sneha Kamath of class 9 and Shreya Jain of class 9 was the master of the ceremony. After the dinner, light went off in the camp at 10.30pm.

The second day of the camp i.e 24th Feb started with the rouse at 6 am. Yoga and mediation session was conducted by guide captain Tr. Pavithra. After the Yoga session, breakfast was provided. Soon after having breakfast, students along with guides captains, Sr.Lenita and Sr. Vinetha visited Snehalaya, Psycho Social Rehabilitation centre, Manjeshwar , Kerala . Students had interaction session with the inmates and a few games were conducted and prizes were distributed. This visit has served the true purpose of rendering service to the less fortunate people. It has helped students to inculcate the value of sharing, caring, service, etc. Love offering was done to the residents of Snehalaya.

After coming back from Snehalaya , lunch was provided. Guides camp was closed by lowering the guide’s flag.
