Every year 5th September is observed as Teachers’ Day throughout our country. Students express their gratitude and appreciation for their teachers on this day. This day is dedicated to Dr. Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan – the second president of India who was also a great academic philosopher, and one of the most well known diplomats, scholar and above all a teacher. As a tribute to this great teacher his birthday has been celebrated as Teachers’ Day.
The day began at 8.10 a.m. The teachers were welcomed by the cabinet. A special game was conducted for teachers and the winners were crowned as Carmel King and Carmel Queen for the day and were asked to preside over the cultural programme.
Class VI B and C were in charge of the stage programme. The programme commenced with a meaningful prayer service and the intentions were placed before God. The prayer service concluded with a blessing song. Students of
class VI exhibited their talents as they entertained their teachers on their special day. Dance, music, song and skit made the day explicable.
Followed by the cultural programme, were spot games and the group games conducted by the School Cabinet. In the end, the principal extended her gratitude to all the students. She also appreciated the School Cabinet for their wonderful coordination in organising Teachers’ Day. A lunch was organized by the school management and the teachers were given gifts as a token of love, respect and gratitude.
