To pay tribute to all medical practitioners for their ethical and relentless service to the humanity, Carmel School, Mangaluru celebrated National Doctors’ Day on 2nd July 2022 in the School Auditorium. Dr Joylene D’Almeida Obstetrician and Gynaecologist, Associate professor Father Muller’s Medical College was the Chief Guest.

The programme began with a Prayer Service followed by a Prayer Dance. The significance of the day was highlighted by the students in a most unique way. Students showed their gratitude towards doctors through a melodious song.

DrJoylene D’Almeida addressed the students on Puberty and Emotional Changes. She emphasized on the changes taking place during the transition period from childhood to adolescence. She addressed on the issues- growing up, menstrual cycle, maintaining hygiene, food habits, obesity and sedentary lifestyle. She also highlighted on managing the stress, body shaming, building confidence and self-esteem to face these challenges.

Dr Joylene D’Almeida was felicitated by Sr Sarika the Principal and words of appreciation were articulated by Mrs. Sonia Rodrigues.

The gathering was welcomed by Sr Preena (Vice Principal). The Resource Person was introduced by Mrs.Vindhya and Mrs.Pavithra proposed the vote of thanks.

To mark the occasion various activities like Quiz, Healthy Tiffin, displaying of bulletin board and PPT presentation were held along with talks on health and hygiene by the respective class teachers for the students of class 1 to 5.
