Carmel School, Mangalore, organized an insightful workshop on "Critical Thinking" for the students of Class X, on August 28, 2024. The event, held in the Mother Veronica Hall, was led by Prof. Narendra Nayak, the esteemed president of the Federation of Indian Rationalist Associations (FIRA).
The workshop aimed to ignite the spirit of inquiry and promote scientific temper among the students. Prof. Nayak emphasized the importance of questioning established norms and beliefs, particularly those rooted in superstition. Through a series of engaging experiments and thought-provoking videos, he demonstrated how critical thinking can be applied in everyday life to foster a more rational and evidence-based approach to understanding the world.
The students, eager to expand their knowledge, actively participated in the session. They posed numerous questions, reflecting their curiosity and eagerness to learn. Prof. Nayak patiently addressed each query, ensuring that the students left with a clearer understanding of the concepts discussed.
The two-hour session was both enlightening and interactive, leaving a lasting impact on the students. The workshop concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Sania Hani of Class X, who expressed gratitude to Prof. Nayak for his valuable insights and encouragement.
