The farewell ceremony of beloved teacher Mrs Margaret Monteiro accompanied by her husband and son was a heartwarming event that began with a solemn assembly in the school auditorium on 11 April 2024, at 10.30 am.
The event was marked by gratitude and nostalgia as the Principal , the Administrator, the Vice Principal and teaching and non teaching staff came together to bid adieu to a beloved educator who had dedicated 25 years of her life to Carmel School. The ceremony commenced with a prayer service where the teachers highlighted the core traits of the teacher which in turn had shaped the future of many children over the years.
Teacher Lara reminiscised her days spent with Mrs. Margaret as a colleague described her as gentle, kind and a compassionate individual.
A video dedicated to the retiring teacher and the other staff who are embarking on their new journey was displayed for the gathering.
As a part of felicitation , citation was read by teacher Cynthia followed by Sister Marie Prem D'Souza , the Administrator honored the teacher with a shawl; Sister Premal ,the Vice Principal with a garland; Sister Lilly Pushpa with a bouquet of flowers and teachers Cynthia and Hazel Rodrigues handed over the citation and a gift.
Added to this we also celebrated 60th and 75th birthday of Mrs Margaret Monteiro and her husband Mr Oswald Monteiro.
Sister Lilly Pushpa, the Principal appreciated the efforts of the teacher in being mother, mentor and loving and kind person. She also spoke how the teacher was a blessing to everyone in the school.
Mrs Margaret also shared her cherished moments with her students and colleagues. She also thanked the sisters for organizing a beautiful program.
The event culminated with a wishing by the teachers for her new beginning. Sister Marie Prem, the Administrator welcomed the gathering and Mrs. Deepthi compeered the program and expressed the words of gratitude.
