Eye Donation Awareness Programme

National eye donation fortnight has been observed annually between August 25th and September 8th throughout India for the last 38 years to raise awareness about the importance of eye donation and dispel stereotypes about it. Accordingly, Carmel School in association with Namma Clinic, Hoige Bazar, launched an eye donation awareness programme on 31st August, 2023 in the School Auditorium.

The primary objective was to raise awareness among the students about eye donation, dispel misconceptions, and encourage participation in this noble cause. On account of this event the students had participated in poster making competition and the winners were awarded with the shield.

Sister Premal, the Vice Principal welcomed and introduced Dr. Ninada and Mrs. Sudha Shetty, The Resource Persons and the Students of Grades 7-10. Dr.Ninadathe Resource Person in her mind - blowing talk stressed upon the importance of eye donation and pledge one’s eyes for donation after death, removed the Myths about eye donation and gave tips for Eye Care and Pink eye (conjunctivitis).

Sanjana of Grade 9 proposed the vote of thanks.
