The theme for INTERNATIONAL DAY OF YOGA 2023 is ‘Yoga for ‘Vasudaiva Kutumbakam’ or ‘Yoga for the welfare of all as one World- one Family.’
The day celebrates the ancient spiritual practice ofyoga rooted in Indian philosophy which has paved a way to promote physical and mental well-being.
To create awareness among the faculty and the student body about the significance of incorporating yoga in our daily lives, a program was conducted by the students of grade IX A. The celebration commenced with a meaningful prayer service followed by a role play emphasizing the significance of yoga and its positive impact on our overall well being of humans. The students welcomed the gathering with a graceful welcome dance. Sania Hani of grade 9A welcomed the Chief Guest of the day, Mrs. Pavithra, a trained yoga instructor and formerly a teacher of our school, along with the other dignitaries on the dais.
The celebration in the school hall was attended by the Principal, Administrator, Vice Principal and staff of the secondary classes. It highlighted the numerous health benefits of yoga, encouraged the students to adopt a healthier lifestyle in a fast-paced world, fostering global unity through shared practice of this ancient tradition. The display of different yoga forms enlightened the audience to improve their physical fitness, mental clarity, and emotional well-being, contributing to a healthier and happier world.
After the stage programme and celebration, under the able guidance of qualified yoga instructors, the students of grades 9 and 10 participated in two crucial sessions where they focused on Pranayama and various asanas to improve flexibility, strength, concentration and relaxation.
The programme was compered by Sara IzzaImthiyaz and words of gratitude were expressed by Fathima Fida.
