April 1, 2022 : The Grade 9 students under the able guidance of their class mentors organised a colourful cultural programme to bid farewell to the outgoing Class X batch of Carmel School.
The Principal, The Joint Secretary, The Administrator along with the students of class X walked in a procession with lit candles disseminating the light of knowledge and conveying the burning message of "Light the candle of peace, joy, love that shines around the world" followed by a solemn Prayer service that gave wide coverage to the theme “God is the Potter and we are the Clay” creatively manifested through intercessions and apt Prayer Dance. With cheerfulness and contentment, untiring enthusiastic dancers welcomed the gathering through rhythmic and graceful movements. Students underlined misuse of phones under the present scenario and made direct appeal to the congregation to make use of phones for communication purposes through a Mime.
Anika Patrao, Sri Laxmi, Aysha Lamha, reminisced past memories and expressed gratitude to the Principal and the teachers and acknowledged the strong support and guidance provided to them by the Carmel Family. Mrs Zeena Menezes , on behalf of the entire faculty delivered a farewell message wherein she encouraged their tireless efforts in bringing laurels to the school in all spheres, be it sports or cultural competitions. “The value of life is not based on how long we live, but how much we contribute to others in our society”, says Buddha - This thought was beautifully illustrated through the skit entitled “HELP”. The students of class X were then entertained with a medley of melodious songs and enthralling dances.
The Principal addressed the students and wished them all the very best. She reiterated that they should remain ever grateful to three architects of life—Parents, Teaching and Non-Teaching Staff and close associates and at the very outset to maintain contact with God. It was indeed thought provoking.
