Carmel School, Mangaluru had Celebrated Independence day with unprecedented patriotic fervour on August 15, 2019. The gamut of celebration programmes were held on the campus consisted of morning assembly, followed by the Flag hoisting by the Provincial Superior of Apostolic Carmel, Karnataka Province, Sr. M. Shamitha A.C. the band and the national anthem echoed in the entire campus. The head of the Institutions of the campus, the teachers, students and the sisters of the Convent had witnessed the programme.
In the school, the programme was hosted by classes VIII C and III C. Every student contributed towards the success fo the programme. Reshieal Roshni Monteiro was the Master of the Ceremony. Students performed various activities such has dance and skit where they paid tribute to Mother India. The little ones of Class III C dressed themselves as the leaders and freedom fighters who held hand in hand to fight against the British to gain our freedom.
The significance of the day was given by Shilpa M. of VIII C, where the achievements of our Nation have been explained and the issues that have to be taken care of in the future as citizens of India was put forward through a creative way by taking an opinion poll from the public in an interesting manner.
Sr. Sarika A.C. the Principal of Carmel School, gave an enlightening speech addressing the gathering. Sister reminded the students and teachers of the sacrifices made by our great freedom fighters and asked everyone to pledge that they would serve the motherland, India with dedication and carry it to greater heights of glory with dignified deeds, the programme ended with vote of thanks by Vamshitha Devadiga and followed by National Anthem. At the end sweets were distributed to the students.
