The investiture ceremony of Carmel School was solemnized on June 19th 2018. Honourable chief guest for this great occasion was Sr. Maria Kripa, retired professor of Economics, St. Agnes College and at present Superior of St. Ann’s Convent and joint secretary of St Ann’s Institutions.
The theme of the oath taking ceremony was LOO-SIR (to shine). The theme reflects the desire of the Student Council to excel and shine as leaders with a vision. It also articulates the Student Council’s aspiration to act as guiding lights and role models for the Carmel family.
The event commenced with a meaningful prayer service. Sr. Sarika, the Principal introduced the chief guest, Sr. Maria Kripa, to the audience and congratulated the Student Council members. She extended a supporting hand to them for the smooth running of the school.
The School Council ministers were conferred with sashes and a badge - symbolic of handing over the responsibility to the new office bearers. Watching them don the mantle of responsibility was a moment of pride for the Carmel family. The Principal then administered the oath to the leaders. Pledging solidarity, collaboration, harmony and support to the new cabinet in carrying out their responsibility and extending their best wishes to them. The students sang a felicitation song.
Calida Lobo, the school captain delivered her acceptance speech promising to abide by the qualities of a true leader in preserving, protecting and defending the honour of the school. The chief guest delivered her message to become leaders with a difference 'Be a Beacon of Light'. The students were all motivated and energized by the address.
Prenisha D'Souza proposed a meaningful vote of thanks.
