Environment has been an issue of significance as well as concern and needs to be addressed by the society at large. Developing a greater understanding of the core environmental issues among students will help to inculcate desired ethics and values. They will be able to recognize the importance of preservation and protection of environment.
With this aim in mind we celebrated World Environment Day with great zeal and gaiety on 6th June in the School Auditorium. The programme gyrated around the theme for World Environment Day, 2017
“Connecting People to Nature». The event began by petitioning Almighty’s blessings for our Mother Nature followed by the welcome address. The students then brought out the significance of the day and the theme was well highlighted through a power-point presentation.
The cultural programme included 5 elements dance , a role play which portrayed the increasing need for saving Mother Earth and created awareness on to make the world a better place by making their nearby environs innocuous and unsoiled for a safer, cleaner, and more prosperous future.
Mime highlighting save water in the bathrooms, save water in the kitchens and laundry rooms, save water outside the homes was highly praised by all.
Sr. Sarika our Principal in her message exhorted the students to bring nature indoors that is to decorate the homes by keeping jars of fresh flowers at different places. They could give a space to houseplants such as aloe vera, anthurium, peace lily, snake plant, Christmas cactus, English ivy, and basil etc. She also urged students to maintain a plastic free campus and create a pollution-free environment to maintain the quality of life.
